Grealish to Become Best-Paid UK Athlete Ever Amid Puma Talks
Manchester City forward Jack Grealish is reportedly set to have the biggest boot deal ever for a British player amid talks with Puma.
Puma to Give Grealish the Biggest Boot Deal for a British Player - More Than 4 Million GBP/Season
The English international has been wearing Nike in the past but is reportedly closing in on a deal with another brand. As we previously reported, the forward is currently in talks with Puma and an agreement could be on the horizon.
Kane and Bale have/had boot deals worth around 4 million GBP/year
It is assumed that Harry Kane and Gareth Bale secured the largest boot endorsement deals in the UK so far, earning around £4 million per season. Grealish could top this sum wit his new deal, according to The Telegraph.
There is still no official confirmation regarding the 27-year-old’s new boot deal but he already removed Nike from his social profiles. Grealish had been a Nike-sponsored athlete throughout his professional career.
Moreover, Grealish was recently spotted wearing a new pair of blackout Nike Phantom GX boots in Man City's clash against Tottenham Hotspur. Previously, the ex-Aston Vila man was also seen wearing Puma jackets and boots in a potential deal photoshoot.
Nike are apparently not giving up on the creative player just yet
According to the latest report Nike are apparently not ready to give up on the creative player just yet. A source from the American sportswear manufacturer claim that they are still in talks to extend the Man City star’s deal.
Grealish Could Follow Neymar and Griezmann's Footsteps
Nevertheless, every hint so far are indicating that Grealish will not return to Nike and join Puma instead. The German manufacturer have been actively targeting top players to be part of their roster, including Neymar and Antoine Griezmann.
Being the most expensive British player following his £100m transfer to Man City in 2021, it’s not a surprise that Puma are keen on pushing for Grealish. The versatile forward is very marketable as he is also the ambassador of Gucci, Bose headphones, and Airwayz among others.
